While waiting for the Red Line train to come, I had an opportunity to talk with Carol. Being a retired teacher and avid sports fan, she was on her way to the Sox game this afternoon. Somewhere throughout our conversation I told her I am a Christian, and she responded that she is a Jew. She claims to go to the synagogue once in a while, but by her own admission isn't strong in Judaism. I explained to her that I, as a Christian, believe that Jesus is the Messiah who fulfilled all the Old Testament messianic prophesies. She said that she would be tough to convert, but God can change even a heart of stone!
